do you have a note taking system somehow? i want to start annotating my books but i never know what to mark down

oh Oh OH OHH OHHH you do not know how long I have been waiting, longing, for SOMEONE to ask this. You are now my favorite person ever and we are now besties :D

Okay so I do and don't have a system but tl;dr Do whatever you want and mark what comes to YOUR mind and what you WANT to recall if you decide to re-read a book!

Long info dumping on how I do my notes under the cut!

So lets get one thing straight, I have not a single clue as to how to "properly" annotate a book in any sense of the word. So fuck it we're doing shit MY way.

So I started by noting that I wanted to mark quotes in my book without writing in it or highlighting [this is personal preference you do whatever you want its your books and they're for YOUR enjoyment] so I got these really cheap side tabs from Amazon

As you can see they're all sticking out because I actually like the whole "messy but organized" look but you could take some scissors and trim them up a bit.

Okay so what do my side tabs mean? Well, I originally didn't know what I wanted to see. I had done Dracula Daily before with the emails but I wanted to make this experience much more enjoyable for myself so I thought of marking quotes or scenes I liked which turned into:

The only time I actually wrote on my copy (this was before I got my sticky notes) I know. I am a genius and my wordplay is unparalleled. So the multicolored tabs mean I ran out of that color and needed a new one. You can see that some of them are different lengths and that's because I cut them so they can properly fit in my book (and it doubles the amount I have) Also here are the "meanings" of each tab:

Ayo that's kinda sus: Each and every time someone (Dracula) does something that reveals their true nature or that something weird is going on. Works well if you're reading mystery and coming back to see all the clues you had since the beginning!

*Women*: Every time a woman does something that surprises me, intrigues me, or makes me smile. I often find these instances can be rare in some books so I decided to mark these in Dracula. I was pleasantly surprised to see how often I was using this tab (when the woman gives Jonathan her crucifix even though she's probably terrified of Dracula, Mina being the devoted wife and woman of my dreams that she is, Lucy being Lucy, etc.)

Ayo that's fucked up: Every time something that breaks my heart or is needlessly cruel happens. The first scene with the baby saw a lot of use from this tab.

Ayo that's gay: C'mon. We're on tumblr. We all know what characters I'm using this tab for.

Quotes I like + Food: I have a soft spot for when characters info dump about historical places or things they like. Stoker has a way of describing certain settings and scenes that honestly makes me smile so I want to mark them. Also I like food. Yeah

When I found my sticky notes I realized I also wanted to write down things (but not on the book) and draw things. I had a lot of fun looking up the recipes that Jonathan mentioned in the beginning of the book as well as drawing them. (I have the preparation instructions on the back) (you can also see the side tab for food on that page)

I also think in memes or at least I process information as jokes a lot

Sometimes I get more detailed with my drawings or even write theories I may have about what is happening in the book. Trying to capture my emotions and thoughts in small blips (even though I have read the book before and know exactly how it ends)

At the end of the day you can take everything I just said and defenestrate it and do you own thing. Which honestly, I would do because this is just a mess. But I hope I have at least provided a small base from which to build upon. My own advice would be to take into consideration how committed you are because I do think just tabbing you book is sufficient enough but who knows maybe you're more of the power point presentation about the books you read kinda person.

Dream and Techno did fuck and it led Techno to the realization that he does have a thing for people smaller then him to pin him down and dominate him, and its not just a Phil thing, and that more then that, he has a thing for people looking at him fondly and/or looking very content for calm around him.

Dream and Philza... look this isn't my ship so I'm not sure how to caracterize them, but I think they either hook up once and never speak of it again or want to hook up but are too weird about the other to actually do it

"Jacob Fatu is what WWE always wanted Solo Sikoa to be." The same 5 songs. The same 5 songs. Wrestling fans, they play the same 5 fucking songs. Anyway, this is my incredibly long-winded rant about wrestling fans and Solo Sikoa's character.

To me, I think if Solo Sikoa was presented just like Jacob Fatu is now it would make zero fucking sense to his character. Even, or especially, to the parts they haven't really touched on much yet. Jacob is immediately presented to us as cold, emotionless (except like. anger.), a monster incapable of morals. He tears apart whatever stands before him without thought, just destruction in its purest form. As though this is just who he is and how he always has been. Solo wasn't always completely cold and merciless, not in NXT and not when he first joined The Bloodline. He was very closed off, but he was still human. There was still warmth to him. He still gave respect to his peers who he felt earned it, laughed and joked, he made friends or at least allies he was willing to trust enough to team up with. Solo wasn't a lost soul. He slowly became more "emotionless" in time after joining The Bloodline. The more he was left alone around Roman. And big notable moment of shift in his demeanor is when Sami left. Even when Jey at the time HATED Sami and Roman was still demanding him to prove his trust, Solo took to this weird little guy anyway. They became an odd couple pair. If Solo was always presented like Jacob, his progression into becoming so frustrated at Roman that he started to raise his voice and yell at him would have been nothing worth noting. Solo was quiet, Solo was calm. Solo operated like a machine; he took orders with seeming no regard to his own feelings on the matter and thus no expected pushback. Jacob is so like a ticking timebomb with everyone always on edge when he will explode. So chaotic and dangerous that even when he displays undying loyalty people expect him to pushback at any order at any given moment. Unhinged and unable to be leashed. Jacob is reactive. Solo was not. As Roman's enforcer, if Solo ever did seem to have his own opinion on something, he would look thoughtful and considering but kept it to himself. He has started off more vocal in the beginning, carrying into when he joined The Bloodline, but over time he retreated into a shell. He said nothing more than what was needed to be said. Despite being a family outcast Solo was brought to the main roster by the Elders orders, then acknowledged Roman without hesitation. Even when he propped himself as Tribal Chief he stated he would acknowledge Roman as the rightful Chief if he were to take the Ula Fala back, as if Roman had to earn it. Though where Solo's loyalty lies is always unclear, a loyalty no one can return in kind to him, he still seems to have his own idea of being loyal and earned respect. A system he believes. And Solo still has a vulnerability to him, one he even weaponizes. For Jacob's very debut Solo fell to the ground, pleading, eyes wide and doe-like enough to create pause before breaking into a maniacal laughter. Even talking about how the streets hardened him in his early NXT promos he had a vulnerability. A "hurt people hurt people" type who still seemed stung at being left behind and going forward is trying to prove his worth, that he does have value, to the very people who discarded him. He can bring gold to the family, he can keep them at the top no matter the sacrifice. What's best for the family above self. Jacob is unpredictable because no one knows what will set him off. Solo is unpredictable because no one knows which face is sincere. Solo and Jacob are not interchangeable.

Ummmm tengolf.... I like it but possibly unpopular analysis under the cut?

Ok legit. Tengolf is really cute im warming up to it but I feel the reason it can never or will never come to pass in canon (aside from obvious writing decision no-romance reasons) is because TB will never, ever challenge her. Even if he does do something that makes him end up on her bad side temporarily (which he has done, multiple times re: BFDIA!) he will PANIC and revert the status quo as quickly as possible to appease her. My take on it is he does like her, but he admires her more than he likes her romantically. Her respect is ultimately more important to him than her love and he won't jeopardize the former for the latter.

Unfortunately my other take is GB isn't going to default to being romantically interested in anyone else, period, and even if she could (& I do believe she could! Source: on the demi spectrum lol) I doubt she's going to start being interested in someone she subconsciously sees as being ever-so-slightly beneath her - and in a more charitable read, not beneath as much as... someone reliable whose feelings she doesn't have to give a second thought to in order for him to obey her. GB is a very practical person, she values results over emotions 100% of the time and she straight up doesn't get why people don't listen to her when she is literally the most rational person in the room. Why should she have to bother being polite when she should be listened to by virtue of her intellect? She shouldn't HAVE to bow to others and try to appease their feelings in order to have them listen to reason. It's ridiculous. But that's how people are - they don't like being bossed around. The only one who does PUTS UP WITH IT because he values respect and intellect as much as she does- but that also means he's never going to get on her bad side long enough to get her attention in that way. To be clear, I don't think GB actively thinks she's better than TB, the opposite is true! But her actions speak louder than words, and we are literally seeing her growth in TPOT in this regard before our eyes. Five seasons with Tennis Ball by her side and she is only NOW improving because she GOT AWAY FROM HIM and is surrounded by people like Donut and Winner who don't put up with her & tell her straight up what they think of her orders.

imho any way to have a romance between TB&GB feel right to me would require Tennis Ball standing up to her in a way that was intended to BETTER GB (not further his own ends - stand up to her to get her to realize her own faults) and make her realize she sees TB as a person worthy of being not just her equal in terms of her work, but her equal inasmuch as he can criticize her for her own benefit and still be "on her side". It doesn't even have to work, I just want him to try lol

That's all canon discussion though. Fanon is a different ballgame. I like GB and TB's current just-left-of-toxic vibe for fanon shipping vibes bc I think she deserves to have an evil lab assistant who would kill for her with only a little complaining ("TB! throw Pencil in the incinerator!" "Awww, okayyyyyyyy"). As a treat.

Is there a name or description of this specific scenario or phenomenon or wtv where an animal changes from how they're supposed to look naturally. The prime example in my eyes is chirin's bell cause we see normal sheep but because chirin wants revenge he battle hardens himself until he looks like something completely different from how he's supposed to be.

I want to see more examples of this but I don't know where to start. I specifically wanted to see artists who change a pokemon's look and maybe typing but again I rarely see it because I don't know where to start. Funny enough the games have a few examples like Kyurem with the black and white forms, the shadow pokemon specifically lugia and mewtwo, shaymin's gimmick, and my favorite the unique evolutions with regional variant pokemon like obstagoon or cursola.

I doubt there's an actual name but I just want to see more of this specific thing cause it's so cool and there can be so many creative stuff done with it. The only other examples I can think of are like legendary animals from the Red dead or far cry games. Does anyone else think about this sorta thing?

I started yet another new WIP instead of continuing the prior one (entropy x senadina) because i wanted to focus on just one figure, and i also really really really really really really really really really really like vita ^.^

I decided to go all-in on a new process for sketching (layering in values before drawing in detail) and honestly? It ROCKS. I can convey so much about the character’s appearance just by shadow and a few key lines, and in a fraction of the time it’d take if i drew out much of the detail first then tried to add value

It took just a bit over half an hour to get this much progress on the vita sketch, vs. the two hours of working on the Entropy + Sena sketches with not much more progress

It’d be even better if i used line more carefully in the start to better hint at lighting before blocking in major values, but its still a good start lol

no hate but what's the appeal of suosaku ship ? Why is it the most popular ship on ao3 and on Twitter their fanarts have many likes...😬

I just don't understand why is it popular and loved in the fandom when most suo character panels are about him being protective and caring towards nirei . Sakura and suo barely have meaningful dynamic!

I don't actually know why they're so popular! I'm not the biggest suosaku shipper myself. They're cute, but not my first choice.

If I were to guess, it could be something about how Suo teases Sakura? Maybe? But if I'm honest, I don't fully see it either!

I don't know if I'd exactly say that they don't have a meaningful dynamic, but Suo definitely has been helping keep Nirei out of trouble! Though I think that also kind of includes Sakura in the few fights I can think of? Suo helps by covering for Nirei, so Sakura can fight freely.

But then again, that's more about them as a trio rather than individual relationships..

As for popularity? I think that's just how fandoms work. Suosaku just was the ship that hit it off, I guess! I was also a little surprised at its popularity! Can't say much about the Twitter fanart since I don't use Twitter., But that could also be a case of popular artists liking the ship and it gaining popularity that way!

(Total guess though, I'm not on Twitter at all, I avoid it even.)

I was more surprised by Togame and Sakura being paired together, to be honest. I see Choji and Togame as a pair rather than Togame and Sakura!
